Mission
The Afghan Women’s Centre of Montreal (AWCM) is dedicated to empowering marginalized communities and newcomer women facing social isolation by delivering targeted, culturally responsive programs that meet their real and urgent needs. Through self-development initiatives, skills-building, and collaborative projects, AWCM fosters leadership, skills learning and strong community connections.

Grounded in an intersectional approach, AWCM addresses the complex barriers women face including language, employment, access to services and isolation, while creating safe, inclusive spaces for growth and belonging. At the heart of its mission is a commitment to strengthening women’s voices, improving their quality of life, and supporting their full participation in Canadian society.

The Afghan Women’s Centre of Montreal empowers and advocates for socially isolated immigrant women within Canadian society by designing and implementing programs tailored to their specific needs.
