AWCM at Place des Arts:
Words & Movement

For more than four weeks, starting beginning of 2025, AWCM had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Words and Movement Theater Project at Place des Arts. This transformative experience combined storytelling with expressive movement, allowing us to explore new creative forms alongside talented artists and theater professionals.
Through collaboration, experimentation, and performance, we deepened our artistic skills and strengthened our connection to Montreal’s vibrant arts scene.
AWCM participants dedicated their time and passion every Monday for over a month to this project, exploring language, identity, and the body through performance. A huge thank you to everyone who made this journey possible!​​
The Afghan Women's Centre also holds regular cultural events and gatherings celebrating the diversity of our members. Previous events have included Persian New Year, Independence Day and others. Open to all!
