As we bid adieu to the year 2023, we reflect on the incredible journey we've traversed together. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to each of our valued members and dedicated volunteers for their unwavering commitment and hard work throughout this year.

In the midst of challenges and uncertainties, 2023 has been a year of triumphs and remarkable achievements for us. It's awe-inspiring to witness the culmination of this year with joy and pride in our accomplishments.

This past year presented us with various hurdles, yet we emerged victorious, standing resilient and well-prepared to face adversities head-on. We pay tribute to the unyielding spirit of those who have freshly arrived, tirelessly working day and night to surmount obstacles and systemic barriers.

At AWCM, we take immense pride in providing the highest quality of services to our members and partners. We extend our deepest gratitude for the unwavering support of our partners, whose steadfast commitment has been a beacon of strength for us.

Wishing you all a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year filled with hope, prosperity, and togetherness.

Celebration of the Longest Night of the Year (Shab-e-Yalda)

On December 22nd, the Afghan Women's Centre shone brightly with pride as we embraced Shab-e-Yalda, the magical celebration of the year's longest night.

This cherished tradition resonates with the message of light prevailing over darkness, inspiring us to serve our community with renewed dedication. Keeping our cultural heritage alive is a source of immense pleasure, and this gathering was a testament to that commitment. The evening was adorned with the soul-stirring recitations of poetry, the haunting melodies of traditional music, and the delightful flavors of finger foods that delighted our senses. Through this celebration, we not only revealed in togetherness but also revitalized our rich cultural legacy, feeling the warmth of shared laughter and the bond of our collective heritage. As poetry, music, and laughter echoed through the air, we illuminated the space with the brilliance of our traditions, fostering a sense of unity and pride in our cultural identity.
