An Evening of Empowerment
The Afghan Women's Center (AWC) will be celebrating, International Women's Day (IWD) on March 9th, 2020 at 3 pm. The AWC wants to recognize the hard-working women/members of the organization. Many of whom have demonstrated resilience in times of war, to dealing with socio-cultural shifts.
(March 8th IWD) strikes a chord with the organization. Since the AWC works with women who have lived through the war in Afghanistan. These women have demonstrated strength and grace in the most difficult situation.
We have lined up two guest speakers who will discuss the role of women in pre-war Afghanistan. As well as the ideological shift that displaced women during the war period.
The AWC invites you to learn about a once flourishing Afghanistan, the history of persecution, and the hopes for a better future.
