Say Hello to spring and Goodbye to Winter with the AWCM's Nowruz 1402 Celebration!

Updated: Mar 17

The Afghan Women's Centre of Montreal (AWCM) happily presents its annual celebration of Nowruz 1402!

Bring your friends and family for an inspiring and unforgettable evening full of entertainment, delicious Afghan cuisine, music performances, traditional Afghan exhibition and much more!

Together, we can highlight and share our roots, history, and culture while standing in solidarity with Afghan women and girls amidst the current ban on their rights to education.

Let's say goodbye to winter and hello to spring!

With this celebration, we are highlighting Anti-Racism Month. We are excited to bring our beloved communities together and share with you all during this important festivity.

Nowruz represents and celebrates the start of the new beginning and the return of spring, which is of great spiritual significance as it symbolizes the triumph of good over evil and joy over sorrow. This year, the women of Afghanistan are in our hearts and minds. We would also like to dedicate Nowruz 1402 as a start of a new beginning for allyship and working together to advocate for the revival of their inherent human rights and empower them.
